Biographical details

Laurent Billot is Director of the Statistics Division at the George Institute and Principal Research Fellow at The University of Sydney with 15 years of experience in medical research. He holds a Master of Science in Statistics and Computer Science from the University of South-Brittany and a Master of Research in Public Health and Biostatistics from the University of Paris V. He is an accredited statistician by the Statistical Society of Australia. His research focuses on biostatistics and their application to the design and analysis of clinical trials. He is currently the global Director of Statistics at the George Institute where his group is responsible for the provision of statistical expertise to support the research done globally at the George Institute; this includes clinical trials, meta-analyses, observational studies, surveys as well as the development of new statistical methods. Prior to joining the George Institute, Laurent Billot worked at the School of Public Health in France and in a contract research organisation in the United States.
