Research interests
Leigh Delbridge is Professor of Surgery at the University of Sydney and Academic Head of Surgery at the Northern Clinical School. He heads the University of Sydney Endocrine Surgical Unit which is the largest such unit in Australia. His clinical practice is now confined entirely to thyroid and parathyroid surgery. His research interests include the development of techniques for minimally invasive endocrine surgery, epidemiological studies in relation to thyroid and parathyroid disease, collaborative studies on the molecular genetics of thyroid and parathyroid tumourogenesis, and collaborative studies on parathyroid hormone physiology. He is President-Elect of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
