Biographical details
I was born in India and recieved my education here in Australia. I did my medical degree at the University of Melbourne with first class honours for my research year (BMedSci). I did a Masters of Biostatistics at Monash University with the BCA. I have also been awarded my MMedPhil from the University of Sydney. This is a 2 year higher research degree. [More...]
Research interests
Before commencing training in psychiatry I had diverse research interests in cardiology, clinical pharmacology and oncology.
I am now in the process of analysing data from the large 45 and up study, which consists of data from over 250,000 patients and their history, MBS, PBS and inpatient data. I aim to establish the use and effectiveness of antidepressants in this large population based study.
Teaching areas
I aim to teach in evidence based medicine with focus on interpreting and carrying out biostatistical analysis for medical students and trainees.
