I was born in India and recieved my education here in Australia. I did my medical degree at the University of Melbourne with first class honours for my research year (BMedSci). I did a Masters of Biostatistics at Monash University with the BCA. I have also been awarded my MMedPhil from the University of Sydney. This is a 2 year higher research degree.

I carried out research projects on ACE inhibtors and MI/CCF and also HF cohort studies looking at hospitalisation and mortality in one of the largest heart failure datasets in the world (the Royal Adelaide Hospital Heart Failure study).

I have also done an oncology project on lip cancer for my MPhil, analysing and discussing the treatment and risk factors of lip cancer. This was at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Westmead Hospital in joint collaboration with the NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre.

I have commenced traning in psychiatry and hope to be a leading researcher in the field of depression and schizophrenia. Currently I am investigating the use and effectiveness of antidepressants from data in the 45 and Up Study. [Hide detail]
