Biographical details

Melissa Kang is a Senior Lecturer in theDepartment of General Practice at the Sydney Medical School Westmead.

This role includes teaching medical students, postgraduate multidisciplinary students, currciculum development, research, research supervision, and various government and non-government committee appointments.

She has worked as a senior career medical officer inYouth Health Services Western Sydney Local Health District for almost 20 years, providing primary medical care and coordination of care to homeless and high risk youth (12 – 25 years).

She has been the medical writer forDollymagazine since 1993.

Her research interests include adolescent sexuality and sexual health and access to health care for young people.
