Biographical details
A/Professor Michael Veness has been on staff at Westmead and Nepean hospitals since 1998 working as a radiation oncologist. His main interest is in treating and researching patients with advanced head and neck cancers. He has written extensively on these topics in both national/international journals and text books. He is lead clinician for the Westmead HN MDT and has a MD by published works as a result of his research on radiotherapy and metastatic cSCC.
Research interests
A/Prof Michael Veness is a full time senior Radiation Oncologist working at Westmead and Nepean hospitals and subspecialising in the treatment of patients with mucosal head and neck cancers and cutaneous non-melanoma skin cancers (BCC, SCC, Merkel cell carcinoma). He has published extensivley (>80 publications)on the treatment and outcome of patients with advanced (metastatic) SCC and also Merkel cell carcinoma. He maintains a large prospective database of patients with advanced skin cancers and collaborates with other researchers using this data.
