Biographical details

Nick Glozier is a consultant psychiatrist specialising in epidemiology, disability and health services research and clinical and ehealth trials. iI particular he focusses upon common mental disorders and and multimorbidity, psychosocial and work related disability research, stress, stigma and discrimination.

In seven years since arriving in Australia he has been awarded over $13 million in nationally competitive grants as a Chief Investigator, including 2 current NHMRC Centres for Research Excellences. In the late 1990’s Prof Glozier worked at the World Health Organisation and is an author of the WHO’s Disability Classification system, the ICF, sister to the ICD-10 diagnostic system and was part of the development team for the WHO Disablement Assessment Schedule (WHODAS –II).

He is a consultant to Government bodies, Mental Health commissions, NGOs including SANE and RUOK?, and industry bodies

He is a member of Healthy Sydney University and the University-wide Health and Work Research

Research interests

Epidemiology, health services evaluation and clinical trials of interventions in people with mental disorders partiuclalry those comorbid with physical health conditions e.g. sleep, cardiovascular and neurological conditions.

Both developed and developing settings.

Development of mental disorders in young adults.

Work stress and work related psychiatric disability.

Teaching and supervision

Runs the Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Programme at the Central Clinical School (RPA Hospital) in year 3 of the GMP.

Teaches on a range of courses in the Graduate Medical Program, pharmacy and public health
