Biographical details

Dr Rebecca Kozor is a clinical cardiologist, non-invasive imaging specialist and cardiovascular researcher, with particular expertise in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). She is co-director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory and USyd CMR Group, which operates a clinical and research program across the North Shore-Kolling campus. She is also a staff specialist cardiologist and director of the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, Royal North Shore Hospital.

Dr Kozor obtained her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2006, then completed her cardiology specialty training and an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital. She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, in which her thesis examined the evolving applications of CMR in clinical cardiology to improve diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac disease. Shealso completed a 12 month CMR clinical research fellowship at Barts Heart Centre, London, United Kingdom.

Dr Kozor is an active cardiovascular researcher and senior lecturer at the University of Sydney School of Medicine. She has many publications in leading peer reviewed scientific journals, and has been awarded a major Australian grants (NSW Health and NHMRC Early Career Fellowships) to continue research in the field of CMR and cardiology, as well as industry sponsored grants to conduct investigator-led porjects with national and international collaborators. Dr Kozor's research passions revolve around CMR, Fabry disease, chest pain, and health economics.

Dr Kozor is also co-coordinator of the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) Cardiology Unit, University of Sydney; Treasurer of the Australia New Zealand Working Group for Cardiovascular MRI; Board Member of Heart Research Australia; and member of the Human Research Ethics Committee, Northern Sydney Local Health District.
