Biographical details

Rowena Ivers (MBBS FRACGP PhD MPH DipRANZCOG Grad Dip Rur Health FAICD is an academic general practitioner and has trained as a public health physician. She has worked as a GP mainly in Aboriginal health settings in NSW and the NT for over 25 years. She has been a medical educator for many years and previously was a board member of GPSA and CoastCityCountry RTP and continues to teach both medical students and GP registrars.

She is a member of the RACGP Ethics Committee

She is interested in primary care governance and is a member of the Illawarra Shoalhaven PHN Clinical Council and has been invited to the RACGP Quality Committee.

Research interests

Research interests include Aboriginal primary care, tobacco and alcohol programs for Aboriginal people, primary care based cancer programs, lactation, health financing and medical education

Teaching and supervision

She is involved in medical student teaching, GP registrar training, and Master's level course development and teaching. She is also currently supervising one PhD student.
