Biographical details

Dr Sarah Maguire (MA, DCP, PhD) isclinical psychologist with over 15 years experience as a clinician and researcher working with people who have an eating disorder. She is appointed within the Boden Institute of Obesity, Nutrition, Exercise and Eating Disorders in the Charles Perkins Centre. She is Director of the Centre for Eating and Dieting Disorders within this group. Dr Maguire is a senior adviser to NSW Ministry of Health - Mental Health Branch and her centre leads the implementation of NSW Health Policy as it relates to eating disorders in NSW. Dr Maguires research interest fall in the field of eating disorders treatment and pure research, public health promotion at the nexus of obesity and eating disorders, and clincial innovation. She and her team are passionate about changing the way these illnesses are perceived and treated within the health system, driving for clinical excellence for providing policy leadership, research translation, and research that changes practice.
