Research interests
Identifying and reducing morbidity associated with anaesthesia.
Current research includes
1. incidence & clinical relevance of postoperative residual neuromuscular blockade, practice & attitudes of anaesthetists to neuromuscular blockade & its monitoring and clinical testing of neuromuscular function monitors.
2. Investigation of the correlation between the residual gastric contents (volume & pH), in anaesthetised humans and risk factors for aspiration pneumonia:obesity, diabetes,hiatus hernia.
3. Attitudes of hospital staff & patients to medical student teaching in a private hospital.
