Research interests
Dr Nangle is based in the Peripheral Mechanisms and Injury laboratory at the Pain Management Research Institute. His main interest is in understanding how peripheral nerves respond to injury and how, under certain circumstances, they can regenerate to restore loss of organ functions, particularly in the pelvic region. To date, his research has focused on nerve damage caused by diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, and also the inadvertent damage caused by surgical procedures for the necessary removal of cancerous tumours.
