Biographical details

Dr Tess Reynolds completed her PhD in Biophotonics at the University of Adelaide in 2017, receiving a Dean's Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Her research focused on developing a fluorescence-based fibre-tip Whispering Gallery Mode biosensing platform as a way to facilitate real-time label-free in-vivo sensing. Dr Reynolds’ current research focuses on dual cardiac and respiratory motion management for high precision radiotherapy. Previously, she has also undertaken research in High Energy Cosmic Ray Astrophysics at the University of Adelaide.

Research interests

I develop Patient Connect Imaging protocols, where the imaging hardware is adapted to physiological changes in the patient's cardiac and breathing rates. This enables the delivery of clearer, faster and safer imaging for high precision guidance during interventoinal cardiac procedures and improved cancer radiotherapy treatments. Preliminary research reveals that Patient Connected Imaging significantly improves image quality and substantially reduces imaging dose to the patient.
