Research interests

Prof Wu's has boarder research interests including epidemiology, preventive cardiology, policies in prevention, treatment and and control of cardiovascular disease. Recently, he spend most of his time on research in simplified strategies for prevention and control of cardiovascular disease, such as salt reduction/salt substitute and delivery of standard management of high risk individules by primary healthcare providers. He is leading a international collaboration to improve the quality of care for patients with acute coronary symdrom in 90 remote county hospitals in China and evaluate the effect and cost-effectiveness. His another research interest is epidemiological study of pre-clinical atherosclerosis: measurement and clinical application.
