Welcome to the Discipline of Pharmacology

The Discipline of Pharmacology provides a vibrant and dynamic environment for conducting high quality research and teaching. Students enrolled in undergraduate Pharmacy, Science and Medical Science degrees are taught by the Discipline in the 2nd and 3rd years of their study. Pharmacology also provides teaching expertise to students enrolled in the University of Sydney Medical Program (USydMP) and Master of Pharmacy postgraduate degrees. Collectively we are committed to scholarship in teaching and the ongoing review and development of our teaching practices. There is a strong and growing research environment in the Discipline of Pharmacology covering a range of research areas including neuropharmacology, pharmacogenetics, pharmacoinformatics and medicinal chemistry, as well as molecular, respiratory, cancer and clinical pharmacology. Collectively Pharmacology attracts close to $ 2.5 million in competitive grant funding.

We are part of the School of Medical Sciences and the Bosch Institute.

We host the Adrien Albert Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry and the Respiratory Research Group.
