We are intrigued by neurons - how they find their way during development and how they change in adulthood after injury or inflammation - and hope to devise better strategies for nerve regeneration and develop therapies for conditions such as neuropathic pain.

Our group takes a cell to system neurobiological approach to investigating causes and treatments for chronic pain states that are caused by inflammation and damage to the nervous system.

Endogenous cannabinoids represent a potential therapeutic target for intractable pain states, this project will focus on how these agents produce their actions at the cellular level and in models of pain.
