45 and Up and SEEF research studies in social and behavioural epidemiology
This PRC research program is funded by the NHMRC Strategic Award Project on Preventive Health Care and Strengthening Australia’s Social and Economic Fabric (SEEF). This research aims to examine the influences of the impact of social, economic and geographic disadvantage on the health behaviour and health care services utilisation of Australians aged 45 years and older. In 2010, the project began a state-wide survey of 100,000 participants who were randomly selected from the 45 and Up study cohort (a large NSW cohort currently underway to examine lifestyle and health care service use of adults aged 45 years and older) using mailed questionnaires. Data collection was due to be completed by December 2010.
