Overview

The general theme of research in the laboratory is the control of blood pressure and sympathetic nerve activity by the brain, both under normal conditions and under abnormal conditions such as high blood pressure.
Our current research is aimed at identifying the brain mechanisms in the hypothalamus and other brain regions that regulate cardiovascular and respiratory function, particularly in association with natural behaviours such as arousal or exercise.
