Teddy Bear Hospital – Orange

The Teddy Bear Hospital initiative originally started as a way of increasing the interaction that children have with medical and health care professionals. However, the School of Rural Health has taken this program one step further by running interactive, fun and educational health workshops. The day involves school students bringing along their teddy’s (or dolls) to school. Multiple workshops will be run during the day by the School of Rural Health 3rd and 4th year medical students. The workshops see school students act as the parent to their teddy’s and doll’s. The School of Rural Health medical students will have various different stations set up for children and their teddy’s to learn about vital health issues.
