Rural Clinical Year

Come and join the School of Rural Health!

The School of Rural Health has campuses in Dubbo and Orange, and if you are an eligible University of Sydney medical student you could spend a year of your degree studying with us. If you are interested in rural medicine, or perhaps you'd like a tree-change and a fresh new learning environment, the SRH offers great opportunities in a fantastic regional setting.

You can come to the School of Rural Health for the third or fourth year of your degree. As an SRH student you will continue the University of Sydney medical program, but being in a regional centre you will get a broad range of clinical exposure and a greater opportunity to be involved in patient care. You have more access to tutors and supervisors, mentoring with academic and professional staff, and greater opportunities to network with the local medical fraternity.

The School of Rural Health campuses are spacious and modern, with great facilities catered to students' needs. Check out our Live pages for more about the campuses and the Dubbo and Orange communities. We aim to make your time at the SRH one where you not only achieve your best academically, but also enjoy the social and lifestyle benefits of living in a wonderful regional community.

’You are fully supported by the School of Rural Health, who make the transition so easy and give you so much academic and personal support. The clinical experience you get in a regional centre is brilliant. Michelle, 3rd Year SRH Student
