The Degree Programs in Sleep Medicine have been developed to address the current gap in formal sleep education, and provided comprehensive and contemporary education through a distance education platform.

The programs combine theoretical, clinical, and research aspects of Sleep Medicine into a comprehensive educational experience that enhances career prospects in this exciting field. The programs are suitable for those already working in the field who seek to formalise and expand their knowledge, or for those wishing to undertake a career change. The programs provide a sound basis for vocational training in Sleep Medicine.

Postgraduate study options

The coursework is conducted online using the Canvas Learning Management System. The coursework component roughly equates to a time commitment of 10 hours per week per subject over four 13 teaching weeks.

A Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters degrees are offered. It is a requirement that the student first enrol in the Graduate Diploma in Sleep Medicine and then transfer to the Masters Degree, if desired, in the second year of study.

Candidates are also invited to participate in a residential one week course each year at the University of Sydney.

Credit Points (CP)

All of the units of study within the course have been allocated a number of credit points (CP). For the Graduate Certificate it is 24 CP, for the Graduate Diploma it is 36 CP, for the Masters degree it is 48 CP and for completion of the Advanced Masters degree 60 credit points are required.
