Stationery and business cards
The University has new guidelines and templates for the use of stationery and business cards by University salaried staff as well as affiliate staff.
Affiliate staff include conjoint appointees and other title holders who participate in the University’s activities in an honorary capacity.
Examples of the recommended templates and logo usage are attached to these notes.
Stationery and business cards may be ordered through the University Publishing Service.
Alternatively, you may prefer to use an external printing service, in which case the University’s logo may be obtained through the University brand website.
In the case of salaried staff and conjoint title holders, the University’s logo must appear on the left hand side.
Conjoint title holders may wish to have the logo of their substantive employer (normally a hospital) on the right.
All other title holders (clinical academic, research, adjunct, honorary) may prefer to have their substantive employer’s logo on the left hand side with the University’s logo on the right.
In the interest of equity amongst its members, Sydney Medical School expects that title holders use their title in such a way that their affiliation with the University is represented correctly. Names and affiliations on stationery and business cards should be set out in accordance with the following examples:

Private practice notepaper
The new Outside Earnings policy makes provision for staff to apply for permission for the use of the University logo on private practice notepaper, provided the paper also includes a statement to the effect that any communication made on that paper is not made in the capacity as an employee of the University.
Salaried and affiliate staff who wish to use the University logo on their private practice notepaper must seek approval from the Dean. HR is currently developing a form for this new policy which will be posted on this website once available.
Any queries regarding this should be directed to Ria Deamer, Manager, Sydney Medical School, telephone 02 9351 4146 or email
