Our coursework programs are designed to complement the Surgical Education and Training (SET) program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). They are not qualifications to practice as a specialist surgeon.
The staff of the Discipline of Surgery will be happy to receive enquiries and direct questions or concerns to the appropriate personnel within the Discipline.

The Discipline may admit to candidature an applicant who has successfully completed a MB BS University of Sydney (or equivalent) and is currently
- a registered trainee on the Surgical Education and Training (SET) program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) (or equivalent); or
- a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) (or equivalent); or
- employed as an intern or resident medical officer in an Australian hospital. Admission in this category requires a prior interview with, and approval from, the Head of the Discipline of Surgery or his nominee.

Please attach a copy of your CV, passport, letter of employment, testamur, and two written work references to your application. The references may be from a Fellow, Consultant, Registrar or someone who has worked with you in a supervisory role. They do not need to be lengthy however they should state a bit about your work ethic and ambitions for a career in Surgery.
