About the Workforce Education and Development Group
WEDG is a Sydney Medical School based team dedicated to the research, innovation, and development of graduate, post-graduate and professional education for medical and health science professionals. We aspire to be recognised internationally as leaders in developing and delivering innovative, research-led models for teaching and learning in professional health.
The department has a substantial track record across the spectrum of prevocational, vocational and continuing professional development arenas. We recognise the importance of sound project management practices and have built significant expertise in our team to ensure delivery of projects on time and to specification.
Projects
The department has been involved in the development of a wide range of projects over the last few years. Projects range from one off event and course development, to integrated learning solutions, and the use of Spaced Education.
Programs
WEDG currently coordinates a number of ongoing programs for a variety of clients. Programs are developed for a range of needs, and tailor made to maximise the benefit to clients and participants in the programs.
Research
Our department's primary research focus is in health care education and online education innovations. We are contracted to undertake this research partially through external funding, and also through development grants. Research is presented in peer-reviewed papers in high-quality journals, presentations at national and international health care education conferences and representation on state and national bodies relevant to health care education and research.
Consultation
WEDG staff have a wide knowledge and experience base, and are available to consult on one off or ongoing projects and programs. The variety of our work can be seen in our Portfolio.
