HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) present major public health concerns for both developed and developing countries. Every year, millions of adults and children become infected, resulting in considerable morbidity and mortality.

The University of Sydney (in conjunction with Western Sydney Sexual Health) is a global leader in postgraduate education in the field of Sexual Health and attracts students from both Australia and around the World. The program in HIV, STI and Sexual Health exposes students to cutting edge research using the latest online and face-to-face pedagogic techniques along-side some of the worlds most leading academics in the field. The program fosters a multidisciplinary and enquiry-based environment, with a strong emphasis on both research and career outcomes for students wanting to enter the field.

From Semester 1 2015 we will be introducing some improvements to our courses. Students enrolled in the current program may continue or opt for the new degree program.

The Program is offered at the Individual Units of Study, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters and Advanced Masters award level. The program is available in five distinct Pathways (Counselling, Public Health, Nursing, Laboratory or Medicine) depending on the students interests and background.
