Zoe Wang, PhD Candidate

Zoe holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from National Taiwan University, and a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University. Her masters project was an assessment of community participation of a medicinal plants conservation project in Sri Lanka. After completing her masters study, she joined the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan as an associate researcher till 2009, working on policy recommendations for energy and climate issues. During 2006, she was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley where she conducted research on environmental impacts of bioenergy. Besides her professional duties, she has also been deeply involved in environmental NGOs in Taiwan and has written many environmental columns for the general public.

Her PhD research looks at the influence of environmental NGOs on local landscapes in China.
