New Victorians

The Victorian era (1837 - 1901) refers to the period of Queen Victoria's rule and has also come to define a period of distinct sensibilities and political concerns.
New Victorians is an exhibition of contemporary artists who engage with and evoke the Victorian era through imagery, materials and processe. The artists challenge conventional notions of modernity and reveal a wealth of creative possibilities contained within an era that continues to fascinate. The exhibition explores the ways in which teh Victorian lageacy has inspired and haunted succeeding generations.
