Mammal Audit

mammals

Our collection team members, Ximonie Clarke and Kit Streamer, continue with the collection audit and are now working on the Mammal collection. This collection includes bones, study skins and mounted specimens of mammals as small as a micro-bat and as large as a whale.

As well as the usual audit tasks of transcribing label data and recording the storage location, Ximonie and Kit are working closely with the Natural History Curator Tony Gill to arrange the specimens in the store to reflect their Linnean classification. This means that all like-creatures are grouped together which assists researchers when they are accessing the collection.
