The Nicholson Museum

The Nicholson Museum contains the largest and most prestigious collection of antiquities in Australia. It is also the country's oldest university museum, and features masterpieces of ancient art and objects of daily life from Egypt, the Middle East, Greece, Rome, Cyprus and Mesopotamia.

The Macleay Museum

The Macleay Museum had its origins in the collection of insects begun by Alexander Macleay in the late 18th century. It has developed into an extraordinary collection of natural history specimens, ethnographic artefacts, scientific instruments and historic photographs.

Please note: the Macleay Museum is closed to the public from 25 November 2016 and will reopen in the Chau Chak Wing Museum in late 2018.

University Art Gallery

The University Art Gallery maintains a collection of over 7000 works including paintings, sculptures, works on paper and ceramics. Our gallery showcases changing exhibitions of works from the collection as well as touring exhibitions of contemporary artists and historical works.

Please note: the University Art Gallery is closed to the public from 25 November 2016 and will reopen in the Chau Chak Wing Museum in late 2018.
