How to apply - Domestic

All local applicants, including international students completing their secondary schooling in Australia in the current year, need to make an application to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) nominating a Sydney Conservatorium of Music course as at least one UAC preference.

For UAC purposes, a local applicant is:

  • an Australian citizen or holder of a visa giving permanent residency in Australia at any educational level i.e. a Year 12 student in Australia in any year, an Australian tertiary student or a mature age applicant
  • a NZ citizen
  • an international student (i.e. holder of an international student visa) completing their secondary schooling in Australia in the year prior to commencing at university
STEP 1:

Apply through the UAC website

STEP 2:

Apply to the Conservatorium for an audition. Applications close Friday 26 October.

Important:
You must apply to the Conservatorium for an audition and to UAC to be made an offer to study at the Conservatorium. If you apply to the Conservatorium but not to UAC we cannot make you an offer.

Audition submission material

Applies to applicants who need to submit a DVD or written audition material only.

Any unsuccessful applicants who wish to claim their audition DVD or written submissions for composition and musicology may collect it from the Student Administration Office, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, within six months after the scheduled audition dates. Any material not collected within this period will be discarded.
