Student Plagiarism

The University of Sydney and the Conservatorium of Music take matters of plagiarism and academic honesty very seriously. As our primary role is to teach and guide students through the correct methodology of formulating their ideas and synthesizing research into their assignments, it is very important that the student fully understands what constitutes academic honesty. Often it is this lack of understanding and the skills to utilize appropriate referencing techniques that leads to the student inadvertently plagiarising.

The Sydney University webpage offers some excellent resources that outline definitions of plagiarism, university policy, FAQ’s and a list of useful links.

Each student is required to sign and submit an assignment cover sheet with every assignment that includes an academic honesty declaration.
