Conservatorium CD/DVD Label
SCM CD and DVD Grants 2011 Round
Application Deadline: 5pm Friday 29 April 2011
In 2010, the Con began soliciting materials for its new CD and DVD publication series. The first items are now nearing completion, and we are currently negotiating with a shortlist of external publishers to find a long-term home for this work.
The series is intended to showcase the newest research outputs of the Con’s staff and its HDR (research) students, and to allow researchers to bring to completion a project that would otherwise be impossible to finish within the year ahead.
We now invite new submissions from all SCM staff and research students for completion in 2011. Projects may include: historically informed, classical, contemporary and jazz performance; new compositions and compilations of a composer’s or a group of composers’ works; the exploration of repertoire on specific instruments/voices or for specific ensembles/groups; and materials in the field of musicology, music education, ethnomusicology and applied research.
What is crucial in each case is that the recorded material represents a new step forward in the research profile of the individual or the research team concerned. Our aim is to present work that is innovative, significant, exploratory and artistically outstanding.
