WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH FACILITIES

The University of Sydney is committed to supporting innovation in Australia both through investment in our research teams but also through provision of central research facilities supporting the broader community.

In the Sydney Nanoscience Hub we have developed new critical infrastructure including a state-of-the-art nanofabrication cleanroom and a dedicated microscopy suite.

These are some of the most precisely engineered spaces in the building – they have even been isolated from the rest of the building by locating them under a green-roof, cut into the hillside of the site.

These facilities are being established as user-facilities accessible to academic researchers, external partners, and local industry, though the University’s involvement in the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme (NCRIS). By providing shared access to capital-intensive research infrastructure, the University’s investment in the Sydney Nanoscience Hub is having impact well beyond across the campus, nationally and beyond, and crosses both academic and industrial research agendas.
