Choose your adventure at Open Day

30 July 2015

Meet humanoid robots, play in a mass orchestra, find out how science could cure diabetes or get lost in the cloisters and gardens of one of the world’s most beautiful campuses at the University of Sydney this Open Day, Saturday 29 August

The largest event on the University’s calendar, Open Day is your chance to explore campus life, meet academics and students, get advice about study options, attend more than 150 mini-lectures, and experience all the fun things Sydney has to offer.

Whether you’d like to join a sporting team, build a racing car, perform on stage or sign up for the Quidditch society, the University of Sydney has something for everyone. Open Day is the best opportunity for future students, their parents and the community to enjoy a taste of university life and see what our students get up to inside and outside the classroom.

Tours, information booths, food, entertainment and activities will run throughout the day. Explore our new student accommodation at the Queen Mary Building, or the award-winning Charles Perkins Centre research and education hub.

For those chasing their dream job, industry representatives and Careers Centre staff will be on-hand to give advice on unlocking your ideal career through study and campus life. Meet our alumni to find out where an education at NSW’s top ranked university can take you.

Parents are invited to find out more about the University and application processes at a special Parents’ Seminar, while those considering further study can discuss more than 450 postgraduate courses available at the University with current postgraduate students and staff, or attend a postgraduate seminar.

Paper Plane World Champions and the inspiration behind the 2014 Australian film Paper Planes, Dylan Parker and James Norton, will also be on campus to support competing students in the Young Scientist Paper Plane Challenge.

Faculty representatives, careers experts and admissions advisers will be on hand to provide one-on-one advice and answer any questions you might have at information stalls in the Quadrangle. Students applying for the University’s E12 or other alternative entry programs can access seminars or one-on-one sessions to refine their applications.

Download the University of Sydney Open Day App to access the full program of events, tours and entertainment, create a personalised program for the day, navigate around campus using the interactive map and connect to our social media channels.
