The University of Sydney has been ranked among the top 100 most prestigious universities in the world in the 2017 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings.
The annual Times Higher Education (THE) World Reputation Rankings are created by surveying more than 10,500 academics in 137 countries, about which institutions are the best in their field for research and teaching.
The questionnaire targets experienced, published scholars who offer their views on excellence in research and teaching within their disciplines. The rankings are based on a survey carried out between January 2017 and March 2017.
Sydney retained its global ranking of 61-70, and remains only one of three universities in Australia to be included in the list.
Harvard University topped the rankings, which are dominated by United States-based institutions.

Ranked first in the world for sports-related subjects and best in Australia for medicine, architecture, veterinary sciences, anatomy and physiology, English language and literature.
