What if I didn't get the ATAR I needed?

We understand your ATAR is not the only indicator of your abilities. If you find your ATAR isn’t competitive enough for entry, there are still options available. 

Talk one-on-one with our support staff about admission pathways and entry options, including the option to commence in one course and apply to transfer after your first year.

Attend the What if I don’t get in? Explore admission pathways into University mini lecture and visit us at the combine your interests zone in the Quadrangle.

How do I finalise my UAC preferences?

It’s easy to misunderstand how preferences work, join us for the UAC: understanding how preferences and offers work mini lecture that will help demystify the process.

If it’s reassurance on your course choice you’re after, our course advice centres and mini lectures will help you feel sure you’re choosing the course that is best for you. Our academics and current students will be on hand to answer specific queries on anything from selecting majors, to finalising preferences, and student life. Visit the course advice centres in the Great Hall and Maclaurin Hall in the Quadrangle to find out more.

What do I do if I didn't do maths?

Some of our courses have mathematics prerequisites that are required for entry. If you didn't do maths or don't meet the maths requirements, there are other ways to get into your dream course.

Join us for the mathematics and bridging courses and support mini lecture or visit us at the course advice centres to get tailored guidance.

From 2025, we’re replacing the advanced mathematics prerequisite for most of our degrees with more individual and targeted mathematics support upon commencement. Find out more.

How do I plan my dream degree?
