Visit from Saudi Arabian delegation broadens research relationships

Mutual collaborations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the University of Sydney have been deepened during a visit led by the Saudi Arabian Minister of Higher Education and a delegation of dignitaries. Three agreements were signed during the visit, providing relationships for future collaboration in the areas of teaching and research. The three agreements involved collaborations in archaeology, medical licensing, and law.
A delegation from the University of Sydney travelled to Saudi Arabia earlier this year to explore collaboration opportunities. Whilst in Saudi Arabia the delegation visited His Excellency Dr Khalid Mohammed A. Al Ankary, Ministerof Higher Education,to discuss research strengths and interests in relation to Saudi engagement in higher education, as well as visiting a number of universities.
The delegation currently visiting Australia from Saudi Arabia includes government representatives from the higher education, scholarships and development sectors, as well as Vice-Chancellors and leaders from King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Faisal University, Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Islamic University, Taif University, Taibah University, Jazan University, University of Ha'il, University of Tabuk, Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University, and representatives of the Saudi Cultural Attache in Australia and the USA.
