Assignment China: Film Screening + Panel Discussion

Mike Chinoy, former CNN Asia correspondent now a Senior Fellow at the US-ChinaInstitute at the University of Southern California shared his perceptions, experiences and insights of reporting China with a preview of two segments of seven-part documentary film series Assignment China with us last night at the University of Sydney.

After the screening, Mike Chinoy, who spent eight years as CNN's first Beijing bureau chief joined a panel of local China watchers chaired by David Goodman, Acting Director of China Studies Centre. The panelists included Rowan Callick (Asia-Pacific editor of the Australian newspaper), Wanning Sun (Professor of Chinese Media and Cultural Studies at China Research Centre, UTS) and Joyce Nip (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the University of Sydney).
