University of Sydney to accept Chinese gaokao results
29 February 2012
Want China Times has reported the University of Sydney's recent announcement that it will consider students for admission based on their scores on the Chinese college entrance exam, the Gaokao. The report says that it's part of the "five-year strategic plan" of the university to woo more students from China.
It notes the establishment of the China Studies Centre for building links between China and Australia, and reports that "…with more than 4000 Chinese students and 20,000 Chinese alumni, the University of Sydney already has a close relationship with China. Last year, the university also established the China Studies Centre, which directs Chinese studies and interacts with business, government and community activities in both China and Australia."
