CSC visitor Dr Dale Jiajun Wen on China's climate change and sustainability

Dr Dale Jiajun Wen, a leading Chinese climate change scholar, argued that contrary to popular misconception in the West, China has already engaged and implemented quite substantial efforts to address climate change, in a China Studies Centre Distinguished Speaker Lecture yesterday.

In an interview with the ABC News yesterday, Dr Wen said, "The priority is very high because it is already a start here (China). There was a last five year plans, 11th five year plan which covered the year 2006 to 2010 that the target was to improve energy efficiency, carbon intensity per GDP unit by 20 per cent."
