In the team judging, the University of Sydney team were beaten into third place by the narrowest of margins (1 point), while in the individual judging Sydney students Rebecca McGirr and Bruce Tran filled first and second place respectively, beating 29 students from other Australian, New Zealand and US universities. The pictured Sydney team, which also included Alberto Stenico, showed great adaptability and skill in accurately describing and classifying the silty and gravelly soils of the spectacular Lake Wanaka hinterland. Congratulations to all three team members for a fantastic performance.
