Fresh Produce Safety Forum - building a new paradigm

A must attend event for everyone involved in fresh produce safety in Australia!
This is a unique opportunity for fresh produce growers, packers, processors, wholesalers, retailers, industry organisations and food safety practitioners to actively participate in a new and exciting fresh produce safety initiative.
Registration with morning tea and coffee
The morning session will see Mr. Richard Bennett give a brief overview of the fresh produce safety in Australia.
Following will be Dr Robert Whitaker who will give us an interesting insight into the lessons learnt about fresh produce safety in the USA and how the research in food safety has scientific and business applications.
Ms Bonnie Fernandez-Fenaroli will give us a fascinating background on how the Center for Produce Safety in the USA came about and how it works today.
We then break for a fully catered lunch.
Into the afternoon Ms Lorna Christie will outline the necessity for crisis management strategies in fresh produce safety as well as highlighting the lessons learned on the role of trade associations and how the Australian fresh produce industry can benefit.
Finally, Associate Professor Robyn McConchie and Mr. Michael Worthington will discuss the future of the Australian fresh produce industry and how we can benefit from the information available to be prepared for a food safety crisis.
This will be followed by a cocktail reception to end the day.
