Centenary Gala Dinner
8 June 2010
The event was extremely popular and the Great Hall was full, accommodating over 400 diners, who were predominantly seated in their year groups. The Chancellor gave the official welcome, the Vice-Chancellor spoke of the importance of rural communities to the University, and the Dean spoke of his vision for the future of the Faculty. Three Faculty Alumni Award recipients were honoured:
Dr Barry McCleary (BSc Agr '72 PhD '76) received the Alumni Award for International Achievement;
Dr Brian Fisher (BSc Agr '73 PhD '78) was presented with the Alumni Award For Professional Achievement;
Mr Paul Burke (BSc Agr Ec '03) was awarded the Alumni Award For Young Alumni Achievement.
After the speeches, awards and a three course meal, a large number of the guests danced the night away to the accompaniment of a live band on stage.
