Solar panels inspire new wheat plant architecture

Dr Carina Moeller and Prof Jeffrey Amthor supported by Dr Greg Rebetzke (CSIRO), Dr Jim Hanan (Univeristy of Queensland) and Dr Jochem Evers (University of Wageningen & Research Centre) are researching a gene that affects canopy achitecture, which is giving scientists a new breeding tool to better adapt wheat to water-contrained environments.
