Two of our Faculty's students awarded scholarships by the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation
29 August 2011
Two of our Faculty's students were among the list of 37 winners awarded scholarships by the Royal Agricultural Society Foundation at a dinner presentation last week. The recipients were George Quigley, a third year Agricultural Science student and Laura Rumph, a fourth year Agricultural Economics student.
The 37 recipients, who were chosen from more than 600 applications, were required to demonstrate their passion for rural issues and their dedication to making a difference to country NSW.
Rural issues highlighted by the students included food security, environmental issues, the ageing rural workforce and climate variability and its impact on farming.
Scholarships up to the value of $5,000 for full time study and $1,500 for part time study were awarded in this inaugural round of funding. The RAS press release is attached.
