Inspiring Sydney Festival partnership

The University of Sydney and Sydney Festival have once again joined forces to celebrate the unique connection between Sydneysiders and our great city.
The University is inviting members of the community to share what inspires them about Sydney through a photo and video Instagram competition. The competition takes place as the University of Sydney continues to celebrate the success of INSPIRED - The Campaign to support the University of Sydney, which has raised $349 million dollars to fund the pursuit of ideas that will shape the world in which we live.
By taking an original photo or video that shows 'How does Sydney inspire you?' and tagging #unisydcomp and @sydney_uni on Instagram, you could win $500 worth of Sydney Festival tickets.
The competition marks the University's long-standing contribution to the cultural life of our city and its fifth year of partnership with Sydney Festival. As a leadership partner of the Festival, the University will also play host to an outstanding line-up of performances as part of the 2014 Festival - including a thought-provoking and fun selection of events encompassing theatre, dance, circus and music.
From 13 to 26 January 2014, the University's performing arts venue, the Seymour Centre, will also present five new shows, including a world premiere. These include the vividly theatrical circus work Ockham's Razor; an intimate version of Samuel Beckett's classic radio play, All That Fall; the street-smart Shakespeare interpretation, Othello: the Remix; the musical Chinese folk performance, Lao Qiang; and a dynamic combination of TaikOz drumming and Indian dance in the world-premiere of Chi Udaka.
Over two nights at the University's iconic Great Hall, world-renowned vocal chamber group the Hilliard Ensemble will deliver a special concert as part of their farewell tour.
The University has brought together some of its brightest minds to explore the passion and creativity behind the Festival program with a special video series, Festival Thinking.
