The Ultra_Fab pavillion was successfully launched recently at the Faculty of Architecture Design and Planning as part of Sydney Design Week '09. Over 300 people attended the even, the centre piece being an installation constructed by staff and students, the work explored the environmental impacts of digital modelling and fabrication.
The pavilion itself is an experimental project which, in addition to exploring the potential and the limitations of current digital modelling and fabrication processes, also incorporates an interactive lighting system. The structure has been digitally modelled and fabricated by the group in a studio intensive as part of the Masters of Architecture degree.
