Associate Professor Yixu Lu wins Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Prize

Congratulations to Associate Professor Yixu Lu on winning the Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Prize, awarded to a scholar from outside Germany who has made a particularly distinguished contribution to research and teaching and to international collaboration in German studies.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announces the award once each year in consultation with its Advisory Committee on German Studies.
"This is great news," said the Dean, Professor Duncan Ivison.
"It is such an honour for Associate Professor Lu, for the School of Languages and Cultures and for the Faculty."
Associate Professor Lu's main research interest is modern German literature and history.
Her research work concentrates on the following areas: 18th-20th century German literature; German colonialism and nationalism, Greek myth in German literature and contemporary German culture and society.
The award will be presented in Dresden on 19 September 2014.
