Open Tai Chi Competition 2013

8 February 2013

The Confucius Institute will hold the 8th Open Tai Ji Competition at Sydney University Sports & Aquatic Centre on 9th June 2013, in association with Tai Chi Association Australia.

The Institute is dedicated to the promotion of Chinese language and culture and recognises Tai Ji Quan to be amongst the treasures developed in China that deserves support for its further promotion in Australia. We would like to invite Tai Ji practitioners to take part in this Competition, not only as competitors, but also as spectators - entry for spectators is free.

Last year, the 7th Open Tai Ji Competition had attracted 68 contestants to participate and more than 300 audiences to watch the competition. Many contestants' wonderful performances won thunderous applause from the audience. Continuing last year's success, the 2013 competition will include bare hands forms, weapons forms, push hands forms and group performance
