Our popular Chinese Tea Appreciation session is back

24 April 2014

This Mothers Day, why not spend a relaxing afternoon with your mum at a very special Chinese tea house? This Chinese Tea Appreciation session includes the tasting of three different kinds of tea, biscuits and a tea appreciation talk by My Tea House owner Raymond Mao.

Raymond Mao's great adventure with Chinese tea began when he met the girl who became his wife 20 years ago. She had grown up in a family of tea farmers; before they got married, Raymond would often visit her family home where her father would invite him to taste different kinds of tea.

He would make the tea using the traditional kung-fu tea ceremony, which demands that you sit quietly while the tea is made then drink it from tiny cups, savouring the differences between each rinsing of the tea leaves.

Come hear more of Raymonds story and learn how to drink and make Chinese tea. Limited places are available, so book early to avoid disappointment. We have hosted several Chinese tea appreciation classes in previous years, and the events have always booked out fast.

Date: Sun 11 May and Sun 18 May, 2.30pm-4.00pm.

Venue: My Tea House, Shop 4 & 5, 129-133 Military Road, Neutral Bay
