Manager of the Confucius Institute gives a speech to the Australia China Friendship Society

On 22 July, Xing Jin, Business Development Manager of the University of Sydney Confucius Institute gave a talk to members of the Australia China Friendship Society. Xing introduced the work that has been done by the Institute since it was established in June 2008.
In the speech, Xing also introduced the key areas of the focus for the Confucius Institute, including Chinese language teaching and training, community outreach through the public lecture series and cultural events delivered to the Sydney community. Highlights in 2010 included the Chinese Calligraphy Workshops and two Chinese opera performances, both of which were held with great success and were well-received by public.
These key events had been attended by members of the society who said they were grateful to the Institute for providing these opportunities to engage with Chinese culture, and hope to participate in more Confucius Institute activities in the future.
